One hundred watt fast charging is a popular trend in the future. With the popularity of high-power devices such as laptops and mobile phones, several chargers supporting 100W and higher power have been launched to meet the fast charging needs of consumers. The previous 100W or higher power fast charging mostly used LLC architecture with Synchronous Step-Down, with high cost, resulting in high product price and suppressing market demand.

Biyi micro has launched a cost-effective 120W gallium nitride fast charging power supply scheme, which adopts the topology of Critical Mode Boost PFC + quasi resonant flyback + synchronous rectification to support a wide range of voltage output without the use of secondary step-down circuit. Compared with LLC architecture, it saves the cost of isolation driver and a gallium nitride switch, supports wide voltage output and saves the cost of secondary step-down circuit. It is a high-performance and cost-effective high-power fast charging solution.

In recent years, with the display supporting PD fast charging output and realizing one-line connection for notebooks, Biyi micro's cost-effective solution can also provide higher power fast charging for the display. 100W PD output meets the charging and use needs of high-power notebook, releases the performance shackles and improves the selling points of products.

Biyi micro 120W gallium nitride fast charging scheme is composed of kp2801 PFC controller, kp2202 QR flyback controller and kp4060 synchronous rectifier controller. The flyback topology can be used for wide voltage output. Compared with LLC scheme, it is more flexible, does not need secondary step-down circuit, reduces cost and improves cost performance.

The controllers of this fast charging scheme are all provided by Biyi micro, which realizes the success of full localization of high-power gallium nitride fast charging by domestic manufacturers. Compared with LLC + secondary buck scheme, flyback topology not only has similar performance, but also has significant cost advantages. It is a strong competitor of high-efficiency gallium nitride power supply.
