Disassembly report: Zimi 30W gallium nitride fast charging charger

2022-05-21

With the release of Apple's Super Cup mobile phone, the mainstream fast charging power has been continuously improved, from 18W to 20W. The launch of iphone13 has pushed the mainstream fast charging power to 27W, and it is imperative to upgrade the charger to 30W. At the same time, 30W fast charging can also provide PPS fast charging for Android phones, which is more friendly to multi machine parties.

Zimi, a well-known manufacturer, has launched a new 30W power gallium nitride charger, which has a round shape, with folding pins, convenient storage and good hand feel. Next, the charging head network will disassemble this gallium nitride charger to see how the internal materials are used.

Zimi 30W charger adopts the same design language as the 35W dual port charger recently launched. The folding pin is small and portable. The charger supports 5v3a, 9v3a and 12V2 5A、15V2A、20V1. 5A five sets of outputs, and 5-11v2 75A and 5-20v1 5A two groups of PPS voltage gears support apple and Android phones very well, and also support laptop charging.

According to the disassembly of the charging head network, the Zimi 30W charger adopts the combination welding of two PCBs, and the L-shaped structure is internally arranged with transformer and filter capacitor to maximize the use of internal space and reduce the volume of the charger. The primary and secondary filter capacitors are isolated by customized insulating supports to simplify the production process.

The charger uses the sc3056 + sc3503 gallium nitride fast charging power scheme of the well-known manufacturer Nanxin semiconductor. Previously, Zimi 35W dual port charger also chose this power scheme. The charger adopts Aishi Aihua electrolytic capacitor filter, Infineon protocol chip and external thermistor for temperature detection. The overall workmanship and materials are solid and reliable.
